There is no doubt that the uncertainty surrounding leaving the European Union is damaging industry. The one example of the furnishing industry where I have considerable experience is no doubt echoed in many other sectors that are vital to the UK economy. My letter published in the Telegraph on Saturday 23 February reflects this view.
While politicians continue to pose and pout for the media, good businesses are feeling the full affects of delays by their customers in making purchasing decisions. Sure it will be alright eventually but time is money and when cash runs low damage is not far behind.
Deal or no deal is not a game show and politicians should remember that. Of course a deal is highly preferable but as its taken all this time since 2016 to get frankly not that far, just how long could a delayed exit take? They need to get on with it.
